Opportunities

The Institute of Radio Astronomy and Astrophysics (IRyA) of UNAM at the Morelia campus offers the opportunity to take a postgraduate degree in Astrophysics (Master's and / or Doctorate) with admission in summer and winter. In addition, it also has the opportunity to do a bachelor thesis oriented in astronomy and directed by the researchers of the institute ( http://www.irya.unam.mx/web/index.php/research/posibles-temas-de-tesis ) , summer schools and research stays. Calls are announced on their website ( http://www.irya.unam.mx/ web / ) and are open to undergraduate students in physics or related careers in and outside of Mexico.

Most Australian universities have funds to finance foreign students. The process begins contacting the researchers directly within the Universities. The Australian government also offers scholarships for Latin American students who have been accepted into a program of PhD, see:

Students are encouraged to join the master's program in Physics at Western Illinois University. In addition there are opportunities to conduct short research and/or teaching internships. Research projects in the area of astrophysics are related to the study of interstellar medium using radio telescopes such as the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico and the Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) in New Mexico.
