I was born in Guatemala city, Guatemala. I obtained my physics degree at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC) in the year 2006. After that I entered the postgraduate program at the Astronomy Institute of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico city campus, where I obtained my master and PhD. Degrees under the supervision of Dra. María Magdalena González Sanchez. I had the oportunity of made two postdoctoral stances, first at IA-UNAM and later I worked at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), at the Astrophysics division along professor João Braga, and his group.

My main focus of research are Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs), particularly working on data analysis but also a little bit of theory. Working at INPE I got involved in the MIRAX X-ray mission focused on the study of transient sources in the hard X-ray band.
