I was born in Guatemala City on MJD 43125. After going through the usual basic education, I decided to study physics, so I went to Universidad de San Carlos. I got my degree in 2000. I worked as a teacher at the math and physics departments for two years. In 2002 I joined the numerical relativity group at the University of Texas at Brownsville, where I got the Master in Physics. On January 2005, I went to Louisiana State University, to pursue my doctoral degree working with Manuel Tiglio, with whom I kept working with while being a visiting student at Cornell University and moving later to University of Maryland. I spent time at the Physics department and at the Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical Modelling. I got my doctoral degree on December 2009. Then I joined the Center for Relativistic Astrophysics at Georgia Institute of Technology. In January 2011 I came back to Guatemala. I was a professor in the math department in the school of engineering. Starting on 2016 I now work as a physics professor in the Escuela de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas
